Welcome to the Upper Credit Humane Society's
“Foster Kitten Program”!

We are a small group of volunteers who operate this unique program for the UCHS.

Most of the kittens that come to the shelter are placed in our care until they are old enough to be adopted out. Our kittens live with Foster families and are treated as members of that household. All of our kittens have their first set of injections, are spayed or neutered, tattooed, dewormed and micro chipped prior to adoption. The kittens will be with the Foster family until they reach the minimum requirement of - 10 weeks old and a weight of 2+ lbs before they have the necessary surgery. Around the 10 week period we will post pictures of the kittens that are just about or are ready for adoption, so watch this site regularly. If you are looking for something specific, e-mail your request and we will try and help you. The Foster families play a major role in the care and socializing of the kittens, so in return we ask that the kitten be kept in safety as an indoor cat and have no further cosmetic surgery.

Adoption Fees and details

The kitten adoption fee is $140.00 including tax (CASH ONLY).

This fee includes spaying or neutering, the first set of vaccinations, deworming, tattooing, and micro chipping.

Kittens are ready for adoption at 10 weeks of age (or over 2 lbs).

As all kittens are in foster homes an appointment must be made to meet them.

A $60.00 non-refundable, non-transferable, deposit may be given to hold a kitten until time of final adoption.

All adopters must first have an adoption interview and complete a questionnaire to be approved to adopt a kitten. Click here to download a copy of the questionnaire – please be sure to bring this with you.

UCHS Kitten Foster/Adoption Program Jewellery Show

Saturday May 3rd

Pet Valu, 235 Guelph Street, Georgetown has kindly agreed to host a show and sale of jewellery in support of the Upper Credit Humane Society Kitten Foster / Adoption Program.

This season the kittens have been arriving earlier and faster than any of the previous years. The program has taken in 7 new mothers and their tiny kittens in the month of March alone! We are in desperate need of funds to meet these needs.

C.C Rox is a one woman enterprise featuring a beautiful and affordable collection of jewellery in stunning designs using stone, pearls, Murano-style glass and crystal. This is an ideal opportunity to do some shopping for Mother's Day and yourself with a portion of sales being donated to the kitten program. For a donation to the Kitten Foster program of $2 you will receive 1 chance or for $5 you will have 3 chances at becoming the owner of one of CC Rox’s fine pieces of jewellery. Donations can be made at the Erin Shelter; Thrift Shop, Moore Park Plaza; Good Paws, Main St., Erin or Pet Valu, Georgetown.

We hope that you and all your friends will join us on Saturday May 3rd. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pet Valu in Georgetown to see the kittens and do some shopping!

Special Requests

If you have a special request please e-mail us at uchskittens@gmail.com . Include ‘details’ such as colour, long or short hair, sex and how many. So you won’t be disappointed, we very seldom get an identifiable breed of kitten!

We will let you know if we have something that meets your description. If we don’t have something now, we will keep your request for a couple of months. Be sure to keep watching the website in the mean time, in case you spot somebody you maybe interested in.

Sneak Peek

We will occasionally post a sneak peek of kittens coming up for adoption. “Sneak Peak” kittens have not had their surgery and will not be adopted out until then. These kittens’ descriptions will be marked with an “SP” beside their name and have an ‘earliest meeting date’. If you would like to meet one of these kittens please e-mail us at uchskittens@gmail.com to arrange an appointment.

If you would like to adopt one of our Sneak Peek kittens, a non-refundable deposit of $60 will be required with the balance due on final adoption. Kittens will remain with the Foster Family until after surgery. All of our kittens will be adopted to the first approved family.
